Biography
Tony Tiyou holds a triple Engineering Master’s Degree from Cranfield University (UK), Ecole Centrale de Lille (France) and Faculte Polytechnique de Mons (Belgium). A registered PRINCE2 Practitioner, Tony has also been recognised as an achiever of the Galileo Master Certificate from the European Energy Centre (UK) and holds qualifications as a Renewable Energy expert. After working in various positions and holding different roles for about a decade in the Automotive and the Renewable Industries, Tony has co-founded a consultancy, O’wango & TT Smart (O&TT). O&TT supports businesses and provides solutions in Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency and Project Management. In September 2016, Tony launched Renewables in Africa (www.renewablesinafrica.com), the expert blog about Renewable Energy in Africa. The ambition is to Raise the Technical Awareness about the various Renewable Energy sources on the African Continent and share the information. As much as helping businesses primarily, it is also about getting the civil society understanding what they need, what they buy and to some extent as well, how to better use this energy.

Biography
Yanqi Wu is Professor Emeritus at the Oklahoma State University, Department of Plant and Soil Sciences, Stillwater, OK. Major responsibility is to provide leadership of the OSU Grass Breeding and Genetics Research Program. Current research is focused on the development of new cultivars, and genetic and genomic research on important agronomic traits in bermudagrass used for turf and forage, and switchgrass for bioenergy. Four new cultivars, ‘Goodwell’ forage bermudagrass, ‘Cimarron’ switchgrass, ‘NorthBridge’ turf bermudagrass, and ‘Latitude 36’ turf bermudagrass have been released from the breeding program since 2006. Responsibilities also include teaching one graduate level course, Plant Breeding Methods (2 credits), one undergraduate course, Plant Breeding (3 credits), advising graduate students and providing committee service

Courses taught: Soil Chemistry, Soil Science, Agricultural Chemistry, Wood Chemistry and Technology, Organic Chemistry, and General and Inorganic Chemistry. Visiting professor and/or scientist for various periods at universities in Canada, USA, Somalia, Indonesia, Switzerland, Argentina, Brasil, Venezuela and Colombia. Doctor Honoris Causa Institute National Polytechnique de Toulouse (INPT), France (2000), Fellow of American Society of Agronomy (ASA) (1995) and Soil Science Society of America (SSSA) (1996), Honorary Member of Int. Humic Substances Society (IHSS) (2009), Polish Soil Science Society (2011), Azerbaijan Soil Science Society (AzSSS) and Int. Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS) (2012). Currently Past-President of the Italian Soil Science Society (SISS). Previously, President of the European Confederation of Soil Science Societies (ECSSS), President of Division VI-Chemistry and the Environment and Chair of the Subcommittee Biophysico-Chemical Processes in Environmental Systems of the Int. Union of Pure and Applied Chemists (IUPAC), President of the Mediterranean Scientific Assoc. for Environ. Protection (MESAEP), President of the Int. Humic Substances Society (IHSS) and Chairman of Division II-Soil Properties and Processes of the Int. Union of Soil Science (IUSS). Currently Associate Editor of Geoderma, Soil Science, Pedosphere, CLEAN-Soil, Air, Water and other technical and scientific journals. Research focused on fundamental and applied aspects of chemistry and biochemistry of organic matter from soils and other systems and materials, and its interactions with soil-applied organic chemicals and trace metals, by the use of advanced physico-chemical techniques and biochemical tools. Recently, physiological and antimutagenic effects of humic substances on plants, and implications of recycling organic wastes on soil fertility and crop production. Pioneered the application of fractal geometry to the study of molecular conformation and aggregation processes of natural soil organic colloids and the view of humic substances as natural nanomaterials. The results of his research are documented in about 370 scientific and technical papers and about 60 book chapters and invited reviews. Dr. Senesi has also co-edited 20 books and Proceedings Volumes.
