Biography
Yanqi Wu is Professor Emeritus at the Oklahoma State University, Department of Plant and Soil Sciences, Stillwater, OK. Major responsibility is to provide leadership of the OSU Grass Breeding and Genetics Research Program. Current research is focused on the development of new cultivars, and genetic and genomic research on important agronomic traits in bermudagrass used for turf and forage, and switchgrass for bioenergy. Four new cultivars, ‘Goodwell’ forage bermudagrass, ‘Cimarron’ switchgrass, ‘NorthBridge’ turf bermudagrass, and ‘Latitude 36’ turf bermudagrass have been released from the breeding program since 2006. Responsibilities also include teaching one graduate level course, Plant Breeding Methods (2 credits), one undergraduate course, Plant Breeding (3 credits), advising graduate students and providing committee service
