Biography
Stefan Bringezu is Professor of Sustainable Resource Management and Director at the Center for Environmental Systems Research (CESR) at University of Kassel, Germany, heading the Sustainable Resource Futures (SURF) group. He is the inaugural member of the International Resource Panel where he lead-coordinated three reports. A biologist by training, he worked in chemical assessment at the German Environment Agency, at Dortmund University heading a department on Supply Systems and Environmental Planning, and for many years led a research group on Material Flows and Resource Management at the Wuppertal Institute. His main research topic is the multi-scale analysis of the socio-industrial metabolism and related land use, the indicators of sustainability and the implementation of the SDGs.
