Biography
Satyawati Sharma completed her Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) in 1987. She is presently Professor and Head, Centre for Rural Development and Technology, IITD. She has guided large number of Ph.D. (15 completed and 8 continuing) , M.Tech. students (10 completed and many B.Tech/M.Sc. projects. She has been recipient of ‘Iraj Zandi Award’ in 2013 in recognition of her contribution to the field of Solid Waste Technology and Management by Widener University, Philadelphia, USA and “Golden Jublee Award†by KVIC for innovations in Rural Industrilization in 2007.She is the co-editor of a book “Women,Technology and Development†published by Narosa Publisher. She has 100 research publications in international and national journals, more than 100 research papers in International and national conferences, 2 patents and 24 book chapters to her credit.Her research interests lies in Solid waste management through rapid composting , Bio-fertilizer ,Biopesticides, Bioremediation, Tissue culture,, Mushroom technology, Vermitechnology, Waste land reclamation through Silvipastoral technology and biological means.
