Huu Hao Ngo

Ngo is an academic with more than thirty years' professional experience in Australia and in Asian countries. Presently, Ngo is Professor of Environmental Engineering and serving as Deputy Director of Centre for Technology in Water and Wastewater (assigned by Director) and Research Theme Coordinator - Sustainable Water: Treatment and Reuse Technologies and Management. He is also a School Research Degree Coordinator while mentoring the development of new Environmental Engineering Laboratory in the new faculty building. Ngo is well known for his activities in the areas of water and wastewater treatment and reuse technologies, which include advanced biological wastewater treatment technologies (e.g. membrane bioreactor, specific attached and/or suspended growth bioreactors, biosorption, osmosis bioreactors), membrane technologies (e.g. membrane hybrid system, desalination), and physical-chemical separation technologies as pretreatment or post-treatment (e.g. adsorption, flocculation and filtration, advanced oxidation). His expertise and practical experience also covers the areas of water and wastewater quality monitoring and management, water and wastewater treatment technology assessment and pollution control. Ngo has participated in more than 60 research and consulting projects as an investigator. Ngo has successfully supervised postdoctoral fellows, postgraduate students and a large number of capstone project students. He has been invited to give numerous invited speeches, seminars and lecturers in the international conferences and the universities/research institutions. Ngo has published more than 250 technical papers including 2 books and a number of book chapters and patents. Ngo's editorial abilities are international recognised through his achievement of 'Elsevier's Top Reviewer - BITE' and his appointment of an Editor of Bioresourse Technology, Elsevier (one of the top impact international journals in the environmental field). He is also a founder and Editor in Chief of Journal of Water Sustainability (UTS and Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology). In addition, he is also serving as an editorial board member of Journal of Chemistry, Journal of abvances in Environmental Chemistry, Hindawi.
